Il Peloton Open House

The Il Peloton Open House Party will take place on Saturday, April 12 from 5:30 until 9 pm. The address is 176 Concord St. South, Ottawa Ontario near Main St & Lees Avenue Click here for directions

Everybody is invited to come by for free appetizers, drinks and socializing. This is an opportunity for us to welcome all skaters for the season and to thank them for their past and future support. The new 2008 product lines will be on display for those interested in new equipment or otherwise just curious about what's new. Il Peloton staff will be on hand to do personalized fittings and heat moldings.
One of the wild & wonderful things we will have on offering at the Il Peloton Open House is these Matter Orange EMT wheels:

	This wheel is the fastest wheel in the Matter lineup, bar none. Their uncompromising roll makes them the perfect wheel for the smooth pavement such as the Gilles Villeneuve racetrack. These wheels are only available in Europe...and at Il Peloton. You will ONLY see them at the Open House, so if you want a pair, that's the place to get them.

Design Canada!

• The results are in!!!!

  Il Peloton would like to thank all of the entrants and all of the voters in making the Design Canada! competition an unqualified success.  As you all know, we received 22 entries, but we also received hundreds of votes.  Many of you took the time to express your enthusiasm for the contest:

  The designs were amazing and choosing wasn’t easy.  But, it is a contest and that means there have to be winners.  After tallying the votes, we are pleased to announce that the winners are. . .

Design #12 will become the suit for the Canadian World/Pan Am Team and will undergo modifications to meet the teams’ requirements.  We will be posting a picture of the final version of the suit when it is completed.

Design #20 will become what we call the Official Canada suit.  It has already been given some finishing touches, including the application of elements from Design #4, a very popular design in the competition.  You can see the final version of the Official Canada suit below:

This suit will be available for sale at Il Peloton, including on the website, starting in March 2008.  Matching jerseys and shorts will also be available a little later on in the season.  Anyone who wishes to represent Canada while racing or skating anywhere in the world now has the ability to do so.  Proceeds from the sale of this clothing will be donated by Il Peloton to support the athletes on the 2008 Canadian World Team.

Once again, a huge thank you to all of the people who contributed, visited and voted.  It has been a fantastic experience and we are very proud to have been part of it!

  The Design Canada! Competition generated 22 incredible entries. You have until January 28th to vote for your favourite. To learn how to vote please click here or read the paragraph below.

• How to vote:
  Go to the thumbnails page and click on the thumbnails to see the suits in larger detail. Pick your favourite from the designs that were submitted (we know its tough). Simply click "I vote for Entry X" link located under your favorite design and send it or send an e-mail to vote@ilpeloton.com and write the entry number in the subject line. We welcome all comments, suggestions, feedback and complaints, but we will only count one vote per person.
• In collaboration with Roller Sports Canada, Il Peloton is proud to announce a contest to design two skinsuits, one for the Canadian National Team and for one for Canadians skating abroad. This is a unique opportunity to show your artistic skills. Using a blank Skinsuit template, you have until January 14th to send us your design. People will then vote for their favourite design. Before sending any designs please read the contest rules.

Skate Mexico - March 2008

2008 Copa Chiapaneca Mexicanidad

• Sergio Almeralla, one of the owners of Il Peloton, is co-ordinating the registration and arrival of foreign skaters to this event.  Sergio now lives in Canada, but was the Silver Medalist overall in Mexico in 2002 and continues to maintain close ties with the Mexican skating community.  This will be the 3rd year that Sergio has co-ordinated the attendance of an international delegation at the event.

  Sergio will take care of your registration with the Mexican Federation, help you with local travel arrangements, and make sure that foreign skaters arrive safely at the track in Tuxtla.  He can even pick you up at the bus station or airport.
